Kale House Bed & Breakfast 15th Anniversary Celebration

labyrinth society annual gathering
This temporary rose and birdseed labyrinth was constructed for Kale House Bed & Breakfast's 15th Anniversary Celebration in June 2010. Kale House is located in Everson, WA; their website is located at www.kalehouse.net. The labyrinth was built by The Laughing Flower/Myra Smith with help from Logan Smith and Cori Litorja, one of the innkeepers of the B&B. It was placed in a lovely meadow under a majestic willow tree surrounded by the B&B's gorgeous flowerbeds. Those who walked the labyrinth over the weekend reflected that they felt "blessed," "grateful," "peaceful," "joyful" and "refreshed."

Faith Community Nurse/Health Minister Basic Preparation Course, Peacehealth St. Joseph Medical Center

Healing labyrinth
This temporary double spiral labyrinth was created using blue painter's tape on carpet. It was constructed as part of a Powerpoint presentation titled "The Labyrinth: History and Use as a Spiritual Practice and Tool for Parish Nurse Ministry." The presentation was given at Peacehealth St. Joseph Medical Center in Bellingham, WA in April 2010 and September 2010 and again in April 2011 and October 2011. School supplies, cans of food, and candles were placed on the tape as examples of the many ways labyrinths can be utilized to provide multiple levels of meaning and metaphor in the prayer life of a faith community.
